My build pictures are the same. (2023 5.0) Flat platform of 5/8 plywood with carpet stapled down, no padding. The carpet is short pile maybe a 1/2” thick.

What I thought was 1"x 3" perimeter framing is paneling laid on top of white Styrofoam. Everyone who wants to find out what you have, on my trailer you can put the back of your hand against the outside wall and slide your fingers down between the wall and the carpet and you can actually very easily (at least on mine) lift the carpet, paneling, and foam up off the decking very easily, it's not attached to the "floor". You can feel/tell it isn't plywood immediately under the carpet without damaging anything like I did.

Jeremy Kessenich, after your last post I looked closer at my build pictures.
They don’t show the foam, but after comparing different photos you can see that the top of the plate form is higher Good job on your investigating.

I'm open to being incorrect, but ETI at least for my trailer did not use plywood in the bed loft. The rigid foam will crush with just carpet above it if you kneel on it.

When I have my carpet out in next few weeks I'll keep you posted on what is there.

That's too bad, I'm sorry to hear this has changed and not for the better.

I understand that this is a bed area and the rigid foam might be fine for that but people do different things with their loft space like the OP intends to have two twin beds and I know of at least one person who has one single bed in their loft.

Maybe Escape will build it the way that they used to and put plywood on top of the foam if you ask them and pay extra for the plywood.

I don't see how they could build the loft with out the plywood because of the way it extends over the stairs/storage, it needs to be a solid platform.

Yes, this, at least on my 2021 5.0. Plywood subfloor with rigid foam on top of that, then carpet.

I've not cut / removed the carpet but I have used a pointed awl to push through the carpet and underlying foam; as far as I can tell from that there's no thin plywood on top of the foam, at least in the 'field' of the platform (I didn't check the perimeter near the edges).

I'm a solo traveler, have a twin mattress crosswise in my loft, set back ~18" from the loft edge, allowing me to easily get in/out of bed and comfortably sit upright on the carpeted platform with my feet on the top step. I've not noticed any 'dimpling / crushing' of the foam at knee pressure points.
