Vaccines are here! Have you started your series?

I am going for my first Pfizer vaccine shot in 5 hours! My wife is scheduled to receive hers tomorrow morning at 8 AM.

It is, generally speaking, not the best organized process. We were fortunate in that the medical system we are a part of sent us invites when our turn came up - and we were quickly able to make the appointments.

Got 1st shot last night at AZ Cardinals Stadium.
Extremely well run, and they schedule you at the end for 2nd shot appt.
Just soreness at the shot site in arm, nothing else so far.

Greg Linda and I got ours yesterday too . Just sore arms and me same side shoulder muscle too. Very tired today . Which one did you get ? Pat

Spoke too early

I received my second Pfizer shot yesterday morning. No ill effects, yay!! Michelle gets her second Moderna next week. Hoping for the same result for her.

I am experiencing light headed moments this afternoon when I get up from my easy chair. Hopefully this is as bad as it gets!!

Anita got her shot yesterday, the J&J one shot and done. My appointment got lost in the system and I go next week. What got me us Illinois is still in the first responder and 65+ group.

Terry and I received our second shots at Cardinal Stadium, Glendale, Az at 10 pm Sunday. Yesterday at about 3 pm I started feeling sore and achy. By 5 pm I really felt like crap. At 6 pm we went out for a walk and an hour later I felt fine and feel great this morning. Terry had zero problems. Go figure!

Enjoy,

Perry
Those symptoms are relatively mild from what I've been hearing Perry. More than one friend of mine had a low grade fever/fatigue and felt sick for about a day afterwards. Day 2 they were better.

Excellent, glad to hear you both got the first. I got the Pfizer.
My 20 yr old son got his second Moderna yesterday morning, and by dinner time it put him on his a**. Fever, chills, and up most of the night. Seemed to be ok by morning but exhausted. Everyone seems to be a bit different.

We got the Moderna . So sorry your son had a real bad time . Glad he is better . Was reading things about the second and my daughter said to stop . So guess I need to.
Just got finished watching Nomadland for the second time . We are feeling not bad at all today . Well going to bed . Take care Greg . Pat and Linda

My wife and I both got Moderna. The first was mid January the second in mid February. She had little reaction to both. I had a reaction to the second similar to others. Fever, chills, aches, etc. After about 36 hours I was back to 100%.

My wife and I (both in education) got our 2nd shot of Moderna. Smooth process once you manage to get a hard to find appointment. Sore arm each time for a day or two. For the 2nd shot my wife was fine but I had 16 hours of minor aches and slight fever. I woke up fine after a long nights sleep. That seems not unusual for people I talked to. I was glad to know it was working :).

We would get vaccinated, if we could. The rollout in Texas is in my humble opinion a complete and utter joke. Even if you qualify, and can find a location with vaccine that's within 200 miles or so, there just aren't any appointments available. I think the rollout was greatly slowed also by the big freeze/power outages here. Perhaps it will open up late spring or early summer.

ditto what rbryan4 says for my area in North TX, maybe some Johnson & Johnson available next week? I plan to get mine as soon as available. hoping vaccine will make significant difference?, we will see. cheers

Southeast Texas is doing ok. We got ours in Jan/Feb (we are both 65). I know lots of friends and relatives younger than 65 who are starting to get their vaccinations or are now signed up on a waitlist.

Effective next week Florida is lowering the minimum age to get the vaccine from 65 to 60. Also, firefighters 50+ and teachers of any age will be added to the eligibility list, which now includes medical personnel, those in nursing homes, and those with certain medical conditions.

One year since my last meal in a restaurant

On March 12, 2020 I had lunch with my friend Roger at Lardo East in Portland, Oregon. I had a great but bad-for-me sandwich. Within a week campgrounds started closing out west and I had to abandon my trip and drive six straight days to get home.

Still no news here in Penciltucky..........
And I just today got a third offer to schedule a shot. The first was through the county, the second and third were through two branches of a local hospital. Myself and wife got our second shots weeks ago. It looks like distribution and scheduling has been an uneven process around the country.

1 year anniversary gift

Yesterday, I received my 2nd Pfizer vaccination.....one year to the day after the pandemic was called by the W.H.O.

I just might make it through this wretched thing. Might.
