Virus door openings

After you beat up an Iowa John boat on rocks, sand and stumps they start to leak a little. Sometimes more than a little. When your feet start to get wet it’s time to move to a new fishing spot. Standard procedure is to get under weigh and then pull the plug. Hopefully the speed is great enough that a Venturi is created and the water is sucked out the drain hole. If not the reverse happens, the water begins to rush in, the plug is reinserted and two slightly flattened three pound coffee cans are quickly located and deployed and hasty bailing begins. Never sank but I’ve had wet ankles lots of times. Most recently about three years ago.

No, it was a poorly starting 40 hp Yamaha outboard and a missing plug at launch time . The guy with the boat embellished the story at a parks and recreation staff meeting. Several people thought it was funny that I was yelling about the plug with expletive emphasis and the wet pants were from the laughter at the mental picture of their old boss going nuts (again).
I heard about it months later. I won the tournament that day though with wet shoes and a 15 1/4 inch crappie. I don’t fish “catch and release”
I fish “catch and in the grease.”
