I just had the dreaded pump trying to pump (you can hear and feel it working) but no water out of the faucet, water pump syndrome. It came after months of no issues with the water pump. I completely emptied the water tank right before the pump failure, so maybe that was the cause? I emptied the fresh water tank as part of a fresh water tank cleaning process, not winterizing.
I watched the Escape trailer water pump troubleshooting video, followed the directions for taking off the filter housing, clean the filter, manually add water to prime the pump. No luck take 1! I rewatched, read some Escape forums, tried again with more cleaning and priming--Take 2 no luck!
Dreading having to take apart the pump (Escape 19--not easy access), I spent about 45 minutes going through every Escape forum pump failure thread. Lots of good advice. Many different things to try, but what stuck out was someone had what seemed like my same situation. They said that adding a lot more water to the manual prime than the Escape video showed eventually worked for them. So using a small funnel I pounded way more water down the filter housing and it worked! 3rd times a charm!
