Hey everybody,

So we are just back from picking up our new 19 and taking it out for it's inaugural first run. Let me say this, what a fantastic unit.

Reese and Tammy were fantastic getting us setup and educated on the unit, course it was 20 degrees out, so it might have been an excuse just to get out of the office! We picked up our unit on the 15th of May, and pulled it down the road to Camperland RV park. Its a full service park, so we were able to test and run through all the systems before the big pull back to Alberta. We then packed up and pulled out and headed to Jasper for a couple of days. The fist pull Chilliwack to Kamloops is a bit of bag and the tow unit (04 Honda Odyssey) had to work a little bit, the drive from Kamloops to Jasper was a breeze!

Having one of the first 19's on the road is a good news bad news situation I've been finding:

Good News:
* Fantastic upgrade from the 13 '74 Boler!
* Easy to setup and take down.

Bad News:
* No privacy.
*** We had looky-loo's in Chilliwack, Jasper and getting gas in Edson!

I joke about it being bad news! It's been amazing the response from the people we've met who have been dying to see the 19's. I am looking forward to our next camping trip. For those cyclyst's out there, we are riding in the MS Bike Tour - Leduc to Camrose, and the unit will be out there. So if you wanna have a look, you'll probably find me half-dead outside drinking beer! That is June 13/14 weekend.

I would post some pictures of our first camping trip, but from a technology perspective it was a bit of disaster! Forgot the batter charger for the camera, went to 4 stores, couldn't buy new one. So bought a new camera, and then couldn't install the drivers (work laptop)!! I'll take some pics of it parked in the driveway, for those that want to look!

Cheers,

Wow, congratulations!!

What fun everyone's having with their new trailers! Less than two weeks now for us!

Congrats G.

We are starting to get quite used to ours now, and are getting excited about heading to Oregon on Friday with it. We too have had a few people gawking at it.

Where in Alberta are you?

Time to change your trailer description too, you got it wrong on your first post. ;)

Hey Jim,

just a little bit north of you, up in Edmonton. We are thinking our next trip should be to Kannanaskis and/or Waterton. Haven't been there in a long time!

Not that its hard to make friends when your camping, but the Escape is like a candle to a moth! They can't help them selves!

G

Kananaskis and Waterton are both beautiful places to camp. I have spent literally hundreds of nights in Kananaskis, though all of it in the backcountry, not in the campgrounds. I have trailer camped in Waterton once, about 16 years ago, and have hiked there a bit too.

Looking forward to showing off our new Escape. :)

You just posted that to make me jealous, didn't you?

I hate to admit it but I kinda did!! ;D ;D

Anticipation is good, but getting is better!! I know you'll enjoy it!

Congrats and what are the chances of viewing it this weekend?
We would love to see one in person!

So finally got around to taking some pictures. Still needs a good cleaning, but tidy enough!

Beautiful! Thanks for posting the pics. Love the roomy storage under the seat! How's the storage under the queen bed?

Heres under the queen bed. I've got my coleman stove, cordless drill, BBQ set, our "outdoor" carpet, etc, etc underneath.

hey doug,

We saw your unit at Camperland as well, very similar. No AC for us though! Swung by a couple of times, but you guys were never around!

G

Careful with all that storage. You might have to buy a bigger tow vehicle to haul all that weight......
