What is "kin" in Tapatalk, and how do I turn it off?

Tapatalk is now officially super annoying to use, with the constant notifications and popups asking me to give "kin", whatever that is. Since I pay for the ad free version of the app, I should be able to disable this annoyance, but so far it looks like there's no way to do it. Ugh.

Ok, a little more digging and I found you CAN disable it in Tapatalk settings. Thank goodness. Super annoying and unneeded.
