Can anyone tell me when winterizing a trailer and bypassing the hot water tank are the valves pointed at one and other or are they straight up and down ?

They're inline valves, so if you want to have water flowing into the hot water tank, the valves should be inline with the water line. If not, turn them 90 degrees and you bypass the heater.

I never can remember this myself, but it is very clearly illustrated in the Escape owners manual. The last thing you want to do is turn on your water heater without any water in it. Loren

You may have three valves to turn, if pumping through the water pump. Hot and cold and another winterizing valve.
