I wonder if there is already a thread that I haven't seen about windows opening.

I just spoke to a 5.0 owner who said that one of the only things he would change is to be able to open the windows by the bed. I hadn't realized that they didn't open. He said the ventilation has been okay, but I'm wondering what other people's experiences have been and whether anyone has looked into replacing the windows with some that will open.

I don't completely understand what the problem would be with windows that open.

If you go with the single pane windows, which are standard, then the windows in the bed area open. If you choose the thermal windows ( part of the extra insulation package ) then the bed area windows don't open but you do have the option of going with single pane windows in the bed area only if you want them to open. I believe this is a $200 reduction in the cost of the extra insulation package. Apparently the problem is that Escape cannot purchase thermal windows that open in the bedroom area size.

I went with thermal windows in the bed area with my 5.0 (non opening) and haven't found any problem with ventilation. If you open the large roof vent over the bed and turn the Maxx fan on exhaust it creates a great draft in the bed area.

Thank you Barry -- I think I would get claustrophobic if I couldn't open the windows.
