took all of 6 minutes and 3/4 gal of antifreeze. I have the e-z- winterizing hose set up, turned 2 valves on water heater and one on junction and turned on the pump. I got pink from sinks and toilet, poured some into the shower and sink "J" trap and flushed toilet twice. Tanks are already emptied. Turned off pump and recapped antifreeze.

Yup, sounds like standard operating procedure. We did the 19 last week on a nice day. However, here's the bad news. I just got my Missouri DNR newsletter ( electronic) an they announced free camping on Black Friday. Oh well, I probably wouldn't have gone anyway. Still a nice gesture overall.

Did you do your exterior shower and city water pressure valve?

Do not have an exterior shower but thanks for the reminder to press that valve and pump a little from the outside. That will probably use the remainder of the gallon.

I thought we were supposed to get water out of the city inlet screen. I don't know about a valve.

We do have the exterior shower and not sure what we are doing on that.

It is a pressure release valve behind the screen it may hold some water that can freeze.

I think it's actually a back flow valve. You remove the screen and poke your finger in ( gently ) and a wee bit of water should dribble out.

Or put a little air pressure to it with a blow out plug so you don't have to worry about it coming apart.

I pump anti-freeze in through the city water inlet, so I expect that would take care of the issue.

For those that have not seen this, if you buy one of these 3 way valves
Flair It 3 Way Valve 1 2" x 1 2" x 1 2" RV Marine PEX Polybutylene | eBay
and cut the line before the pump and install it you have a easy way to winterize you trailer using the onboard pump and drawing RV antifreeze straight from the jug. You just turn the valve and put a piece of vinyl tubing on the valve and put the other end in the jug and turn on the pump and go around opening the faucets, toilets, and showers until you see pink.

Requires a pocket knife and about 5 minutes to install.

Not sure if what ETI puts for winterizing is seen in this photo.

The tube is for it I think but do not know if that is the t-valve.

That is the pick up tube for the antifreeze in the 21' model and there should be a valve where it can be turned on to have the pump suck the antifreeze into the lines.

Winterized today after noticing that the humming bird feeder had a skim of ice on it.
Will be the last time I buy the nine liter economy size RV anti-freeze. Was totally unwieldy for pouring into drains ( especially the shower ).

The newer city water inlets are not like the previous ones. Had no idea what to do with the screen. It does not budge when pushed. At least there did not seem to be any water in it. Are we supposed to take that assembly apart?

We used the winterizing t-valve which is a big improvement just because it covers the pump. Could not get the anode back in for a while as usual but did after a few tries. Covered the threads with Teflon tape. Everything done but the screen.

We have been at an Indian settlement the last three days and it was below freezing last night and will be tonight. Ran the furnace plenty. Home and winterized.

Remove the screen and gently push the little pin to release pressure. Then hook up a hand pump and pump some antifreeze in with the sink faucet open. Replace screen and you are done.

Do you have the newer water inlets with no door? We don't know how to get the assembly out. The outside knob just turns. Maybe we would have seen better without trying to use a flashlight!

We already pumped anti-freeze through the lines from the water pump into toilet and sinks and poured down toilet and traps.

No door, just remove the snap in cover on the threads and you will see a screen, remove it and your will see the little pin, carefully push in to release the pressure.

We removed the cover. Don't know how the screen comes out but we will look next time. Thank you.
