Wobbly 17B 2-Person Dinette Post

Anyone have a suggestion for how to stabilize our 17B dinette post? The post wobbles as soon as we start using the table, even though we've set it down securely in the receiving base piece bolted to the floor. Some sort of shim or wrap for the base of the metal post? Other suggestions?
We like the table and the ease of sliding it back and forth to get into the seating, but because the post doesn't stay snug and tight in the base, the whole table starts to wiggle whenever you touch it.
Any ideas would be most appreciated!

I had the same wobbly table issue & hated it. I ended up using aluminum foil tape wrapped around the bottom third of the post as a shim (about 1 1/2 to 2 inches). I wrapped it end to end so there is only a single layer (strip) of material. I just did this so I hope it lasts & I don't know the long term effectiveness or if the table legs will be harder to remove. That's a chronic problem with that type of post. It looks like a taper fit but its not really. A true taper would be rock firm but this is a poorly shaped imitation of a taper.

Folks have done a number of remedial fixes. Depends if you plan to use the area as a bed and remove the posts often. At least one person put a sheet metal screw through the base into the post to firm it up.

I've always had Springfield type table supports and my Scamp had a different system that was quite firm. When I went to ETI and sat at the dinette for the first time, put my arms on the table and saw how much wobble there was, I said don't install the table. Done that twice now.

Loved our little Bistro table up front on our 17B. A Springfield often used by others (ourselves included) is likely too big for that space. Google RV table single pole mount. I found this one:

I have the 21NE with standard 2 post table and bench settee (not U shape). The leg cups are upside down so are recessed into the floor. The table is somewhat wobbly but stiffens up as the posts work their way into the sockets. The most aggravating issue I had with the table was that it was awkward to stand between the table and the settee to access storage cabinets. I increased the space by removing the slider stops and installed my own stops, so the table slides further to the sides. I am happy with the table now.
