This is a good conversation, thank you for sharing your knowledge. The 2014 V8 durango with the 5.74 hemi has 360 hp and 390 lbs torque. The 2014 V6 Durango with 3.6L Pentastar has 290 hp and 260ft lb torque...... perhaps the V6 is enough for our 21....
What do you think??

PS- we are newbies...bet you didn't know that...jk

Bruce,

we were all set to go with V-8 and then we realized the "new" Durango's V-6 engine is pretty darn powerful so we are second guessing....we feel we can't go wrong...that's a good thing and I am wondering in a few years driving thru the rockies or the tetons if we will be singing the blues cause we didn't get the V-8.....

There is no wrong answer, just an opinion based on much reading and some personal miles towing in your neighbourhood. For me, I like having some reserve on tap, others place higher priority on gas mileage. Its all good.
