I'm not sure that that is a replacement for the pin that Laura is talking about.
I use an 'R" clip to hold the pin that secures the WDH in the hitch receiver. It is a PIA.

Got it. Laura is referring to the clips that hold the pins that hold the arms that hold the tension. Sure is a lot of "holding" going on there. When it comes to weight distribution hitches, it seems like there are a lot of designs out there, each with its own pre-engineered complications.

I replaced the "R" clips with these snap pins from Equilizer.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
They are much easier to install.

The wire retainer is springy, and due to the placement of the holes where it goes into the pin it will presumably always spring toward the position shown in the Amazon photo, or 180 degrees from there. I assume that you drop in the L-pin with the retainer in the position shown, then flip the retainer over the bottom end of the pin; the retainer would sit up against the bottom of the bracket, held there by spring force, preventing the L-pin from bouncing up out of the bracket.

I have them on my Equalizer and they are nice. Equilizer and Fastway are both made by Progress Mfg Inc. Basically the same hitch.

The front is different giving sway control on the back L brackets only, hence the 2 in E2 I believe. Also, the original is made in Provo Utah. The E2 product is less expensive partly because of its design and partly because it is made off shore.

The head is the main difference. I believe the rear brackets on the frame are very similar.
Both are made by the same parent company
Progress MFG. Inc.
I have also heard the Fastway is made offshore and the Equalizer is made in the US.

I purchased our Fastway 94-00-0600 Weight Distributing Hitch after our 2017 model 21 trailer was delivered. I did not like how the tongue weight of the trailer made the back end of the pickup squat and directed the headlamps into on-coming traffic.
Here is the model that I purchased https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I'm pretty sure this is the same model provided by ETI if you buy that option.
The "L" pins are exactly the same size that came with the original WDH. The retainer wire is large enough to flip over the L bracket. I really like not having to crawl around on the wet and muddy ground trying to find the small hole to insert the "R" cliip.

According to the box, they are made in China.
For those that think about weight, note that package for the E2 92-00-0600 Trunnion model weighs 94#.

That is the one that ETI installed for us this spring.
