Just wanted to share how thrilled we are with our 17A. Although this is its first summer with us, it has had many adventures with a previous owner over the past seven years. Luckily for us, they decided to up-size to a 19 and we were in the fortunate position of 'adopting' their 17A. With a few minor updates (new stove, hood, and overall cleaning, tightening etc.), and christening it "Doodle Bug", we were on our way. So far we have been to the Rally in Osoyoos, spent 10 days on Vancouver Island, and just returned from a week in Sechelt on the Sunshine Coast. It has been an absolute delight to be camping again and in such comfortable style. Being inexperienced at the care/feeding/towing of a trailer,
I had some trepidations about taking on such a project, but am delighted to report that the Escape trailer is constantly showing us how easy it is to get along with.
Because Doug (my husband) is visually impaired, the learning curve of trailering falls primarily on my shoulders. However, Doug is rapidly becoming adept at cranking (stabilizers, front post) and providing positive reinforcement to my trials and tribulations of hooking up and/or backing up.
When we picked up our Escape from its previous owners, they informed us that if there was ever another 'Escape' in the same campground, we would have an instant 'friend'. We indeed experienced this last week while camping at Porpoise Bay Provincial Park, and enjoyed a pleasant evening exchanging stories. Another 'perk' of being part of the Escape family! 8)
We are already planning our next outing, and hope to meet up with other Escapees on our travels! Happy camping everyone!
