Fifteen years ago or so, Dometic and Carefree used the colored pattern on the bottom of the awning. You saw it when you sat on your patio because it was right above your head. Now (as far as I know) the color and pattern are on the top side. You only see it when looking down on it, like from a 2nd story window, mountain top or when you drop the awning to sweep off leaves etc. Yes, the fringe is the same color, but that color faces out... once again you don't see the color unless looking back at the trailer.

The beige or tan isn't my favorite color, but it's a good color for the awning as it helps hide dirt/dust, etc. which all awnings seem to attract. Worrying about the color of the awning is one of the very last things I was concerned about during Ten Forward's build. YMMV

Somehow I'm not surprised. I asked several times about the model #'s of the Carefree they were going to install and they said they didn't have that information.

FWIW the Dometic looks better based on research I did. The question is whether they will offer a manual option, but at this point I've decided to just go with the standard automatic version due to the lack of any discount if you take the manual option.

Will the power Dometic have side arms or be like the power Carefree?

The Dometic is what Reace first used with the new design. It has no support arms. It was heavily discussed. In my phone now, so can't easily search for the thread.

It is the Dometic 9500 Power Case Awning, and it is what appears in photos of the new style trailers, with no vertical arms.

The new awning is an important element, and because of that, there seems to be alot of concern. But, I think Escape will go with what works best, and what can be supplied and serviced best. If I'm waiting for a build, whether the awning is Carefree or Dometic is probably not one of my concerns. They know what they're doing over there.

I really like the carefree awning on my classic, now that I know how to properly deploy it
