This seems to have worked for me also, although not immediately, as I did get one more ad after the google account change but none today.

Still Happening

I thought I may have defeated it, but the pop up windows are back. Just another intrusion as if the ads that show up at the bottom of the screen and on the sides of the website are not enough. They have to ensure they stick it right into your face and force you to click a button, hoping that if you are trying to close it you accidentally click on the link. Enough already.

iPad, iOS, add blocker, I get none of this and the site works as it always has. I only use a computer for things a tablet can’t do as easily, so I hardly ever use a computer anymore.

One ad one equals multi ads.

Hi: All... I just found out if you enter the thread through the long list rather than the "Recent cussions" list... No pop ups!!! Alf

Just tried that and it didn't work. I still got a pop-up add, windows 11, latest Firefox.

You might try disconnecting from the internet and then delete the browser’s history when off line, shut down the computer, then reboot and see if the problem is solved.

Now that's kind of a laugh. I hadn't read the thread yet and just read through it. So I read through it and was about to post, no problems here.

But I also hadn't read the "dump station" thread so I clicked on it. Guess what, up popped the ad in question.

Is it only that thread that has pop-ups or is it others also?

Ron

Popped or pooped, that is the question!

Yeah, it’s happening with random clicks on any of the Recent Discussions links.

Sometimes I get ads for a KOA campground, so at least they are occasionally relevant.

I got this on my android tablet using the android built-in version of Chrome. the 'x' to close the full screen popup was very tiny in the corner and not very obvious.

I’ve logged out and back in multiple times yet this new ad delivery system remains in place.

To the ad folks, when I get berated with ads I remember them in a way they would not want. I remember to never use their products or services.

Equinix seems to be a big offender. Just gave them what for on their Facebook page.
