12v Outlets
The 12v outlets that Escape installs are basically a "car-lighter" style receptacle, yes? Some people talk about usb, but i'm assuming they are simply plugging in a 12v inverter/adapter and then hooking up their usb chargers to that.

Escape will sell you a combination that has USB outlets in addition to the 12V outlet. We added some and we use them.

Yes and no...
Yes, the 12v outlets that Escape installs are automotive "car-lighter" or accessory socket style receptacles.
Yes, some people use an inverter to convert the 12V DC power to 120V AC, and then plug adapters into the AC outlet, but that's needlessly indirect if what you need is a powered USB port. The more direct approach is to plug a 12-volt to USB adapter into the 12V socket, just as you would in your car.
It is also possible to buy USB power supplies and permanently install them, powered either from 120V AC (which makes no sense to me) or from 12V DC. The ones combined with a 12V socket mentioned above are an example. This avoids using the 12V accessory socket at all for USB power, which is good.

Were those outlets an extra or is that what Escape installs by default?

Can never have too many USB outlets and I'd rather have dedicated ones than use an adapter in the cigarette lighter outlet. I have them in both the dinette and bed areas.

One is standard, adding additional 12V/USB outlets is $75. We added two to the standard one by the door. One at the dinette, and one at our heads in the loft.

I cannot get a photo posted for you of the 12V/USB outlet that Escape supplies. Maybe someone else can.

At one time, it was $25 CAD increments. You want a 12V drop, that's $25. Attach it to and mount a cigarette lighter-style 12V power outlet, add another $25 ($50 total). Make it a combo lighter with USB, add another $25 ($75 total). Not sure if it's still priced that way. In our 21', we added a second comb back at the dinette so we'd have "his and hers" outlets on either bench seat and a drop line at the front above the head of the bed just in case we want 12V power up in that corner of the camper for various future uses - all for a total of $100 CAD (about $75 USD). :

The standard 12v outlet included is the combo USB/round cigar outlet installed by Escape located in the dinette area. I opted for 2 extra 12v outlets, one standard USB/combo in the bedroom and one cigar outlet by the door. I also specified 12v for my tv install, not 120v thus another cigar outlet in the front o/h.Any round cigar outlet can be made into USB via plug ins.

I specified 120V only at the TV, and will connect these two circuits to a transfer switch (3 way light switch will work) from a small 200W inverter, or back to the 120V panel. This way I just plug the TV in when I use it, and don't have to have the inverter stuff dangling. I have no need for a big expensive inverter either. Just another thought.

I'm currently planning to do that also for my TV ready install.
