To clarify
The handles are at 90 degrees to each other?
Or
both handles are at 90 degrees to the frame?
Thanks.

90 degrees to each other. The black water pulls straight out from the trailer, the gray water handle points back at the tank. Well lubed, I can pull it with two fingers.

Hi: Donna D... I'd rather have "Two fingers" of something else liquid. Alf

Actually on the 2017 21' the handles both pull straight out. Away from the frame.
So here is the updated info:
I need to make (or have someone make) a custom made handle extension for the grey tank open/close handle.
I'll explain why .....
I looked carefully at the 2017 21' that is now on display at ETI
See attached pics.
When we are parked at home, the drivers side of it needs to be about 8" from a tall, long wall.
(There is enough space on the passenger side)
Occasionally we need to empty the black then grey tank, without moving the trailer.
As per Greg A's good suggestion - I will attach the sewage hose and feed it forward, before pushing the Escape into its storage place, 8" from the wall on the drivers side.
To drain the black then grey tank I will use a long pole with a hook on the end.
So see attached photos -
I will have to do this from the front of the trailer... As the wheel blocks access from the rear of the trailer.
So I am after a secure handle extension that I can attach and forget about.
It should stick out further than the black handle... To make it easier to snag with my hook-on-a-long-pole apparatus, while I am standing at the front driver corner of the Escape.
Any ideas as to a sturdy and simple (handle) solution?
Thanks. :-)

Have you considered an electric valve?

Ok, don't need electric.
You need something like the spacers they put on kids pedals to make them thicker so short legs can reach them.
Get a white plastic cutting board. Cut into strips as wide as the T handle. With some stainless nuts and bolts create a sandwich where the T handle is the filling and the cutting board plastic is the two pieces of bread. If the two pieces of bread are long enough they form the extension and you make whatever shape hole in the end to attach your pulling pole to.

Get 3 link quick links per handle, 2 big enough to slip over the handle ends, and 1 more sized to hold the quick links together so they don't fall off the "T". Then snag the third one with your hook.

Thanks for this great idea - I never would have thought of this design, but i like it, as it is a firm and stable thing to 'spear' with my pulling pole, from a distance.
I can probably get a body part donor cutting board for $0.99 at the 0.99c store.
cheers

Ideas are easy, now the hard part, execution, is over to you.
And posting pictures once you have it would be sweet..
Enjoy!

Hi: Losangeles... Those gate valves take quite a strong pull to open and an even stronger one to get 'em closed. That's working from straight on too. A sideways pull might not lead to a successful dump... then crawling in might result in a less than perfect ending. Either way it can be a messy situation. I usually find a short cut might not be so short after all!!! Alf

I'm thinking along the lines of Alfs comment maybe going at this the wrong way. Instead of trying to fashion something that opens/closes from the front maybe something can be fashioned that works from the passenger side and goes underneath the trailer that will push/pull instead. Just throwing out thought at the moment maybe someone can run with that.
Idea 2: cut and install a doggie door in the side of ur house that will align with where the handles are, then just reach through and open/close the valves when needed.

Hey everyone - thanks for the thoughts. Very helpful.
The bad news is that the wall is actually the property line wall, so i can't cut a hole in it.
The good news is that i bet with a stiff pole (I may already own something that would work, maybe) I bet I can do the handles OK.
Fishing for grey and black.
Going under may work, except I, for once, am not taking Greg's wise advice, and I am getting the under body foam. so that might be in the way, a bit.
Good news is that I only need to do this about twice a year.... and if worst comes to worst - I hook up the Trailer Valet XL and move the Escape way up the narrow flat driveway, empty the tanks, and put it back. A pain, but not impossible.

It looks like you are parked on concrete ? With the high lift option I'm able to get under my trailer with my mechanics creeper ( can't wait for alf's comment here) Seems to me you could easily roll to the valves and operate them as well as making the connection ? Even without the high lift you could raise the tung to make room.

Hi: craiginpetaluma... They don't make the high lift option high enough to get me on a creeper under there. I tried a pail dump once. Resulted in a lot more laundry that day!!! eew!!! Alf

Yup parked on Concrete.
decided to not get the high lift option, overall.
raising the tongue is a really good idea, if i have to go under. I would not have thought of that 'till after.
yup I could get a creeper... the Bone creeper looks nice..... if i need to go that route... or perhaps I could borrow one.....
the other idea was to swing the tongue away from wall, as much as possible - that would maybe help.
thanks.
