Pickleball this morning; started getting a few things ready to go. Got groceries and gas. Ate lunch out. Nothing too exciting today or tomorrow. Head to mom & dad’s on Friday. Trip is coming to a close.

Just working on their trailer. Levelling and tightening screw jacks, repairing a grease gun to grease the one fitting on their golf cart. Pulling and reselling a seal and window in a slide. Barb is washing it. We’ll see what’s after lunch. Adjusting a thresh hold on a storage building. You know, just stuff.

That's what my visits to family often look like too. Lots of little chores to catch up on.
Yes. Dad is not doing well. Last night he spent an hour trying to put a new valve in the bath sink hot water faucet. I suggested it needed to be turned 180 degrees. Finally he was so tired and in pain, I ask if he would like to rest in his recliner and I would try to fix it. He still wants to do stuff, but physically even the smallest things are hard and painful. His mind also no longer remembers or can think as it used to. So I hang out and help, and then when he’s done, I go finish up.

I was just looking over your travels from the past weeks and realized that we almost crossed paths for a few days. We were supposed to be at S. Llano river St Park and Garner St parks at the same times that you were there, at least within a day of each other. However at the last minute life got in the way and we had to cancel those plans and delay our departure by nearly a week. That really sucked because we had an excellent camp site reserved at Garner and we were meeting up with a family friend that has been out there for over a year as a park host. Its been about 10yrs since I last visited Garner so I was really looking forward to it.
We ended up leaving nearly a week later than originally planned and going to a more local park, Lake Mineral Wells St. Park, for 4 nights and then heading to west Texas for a week long stay at Ft. Davis St park. This ended up not going to plan either due to a pet emergency while at Ft. Davis which had us breaking camp at 2am on the 2nd night and driving to Odessa in the middle of the night. It really seems our trip was doomed from the start.
I've been to Garner and Enchanted Rock many times over the years.
My 1st trip to Enchanted Rock was with the boy scouts back in the mid-70's but its probably been close to 30 yrs since the last time I visited. There's a lot of good hiking at both of those parks, Ft Davis too...
I try to take these landscape, but some are still sideways. I don’t have pictures from Hutchinson’s Cosmospere. Cool space place. Not sure what happened to the images.

The eclipse was great, but I wanted to watch it, so I did not bring cameras for the telescopes. I’ll add more state park pictures and natural areas later this week. At least here’s a start to the hill country.

Anthony Lake, Anthony, KS visiting family and the Gypsum Hills.
Hi Randy
It's nice to see your photos of the places I've been reading about in your thread.
I haven't seen photos of your Ranger before. It's hard to believe it has higher payload capacity than my Tundra. I believe you, I'm just astonished at it's capacity.
It’s the only midsize that met my criteria for the way we travel with our 19. An XL model can have an even higher payload, but not much. My minimum for travelling with our 19 was 7000lbs towing, 1800lbs payload and at least 12,000 combined. That generation Ranger met my specs just barely, but I just needed a vehicle to meet them. I already have a full size 3/4 ton and really didn’t want another full size. It was the only midsize, and the lowest priced to meet my needs.
I’ll see if I can post more places in the hill country this evening.
