Can't all be winners....$66 a night in Pacifica, CA. BUT, it's 10 miles from the kids in San Francisco - so we're only here to sleep. Behind the fence is a freeway (CA route 1.)

Colorado

Camping in the Colorado mountains last summer. These guys came by every day to clean out our firepit (ashes are salty).

We took our Escape out to Grayland Beach State Park on the Washington coast over Christmas and had a great time, despite the rain! The first picture is just from my cell phone, the others are from my DSLR.

Here's a pic out the back window of my brand new 2014 Escape 19 a few days after I bought it in Bridal Falls, BC. 7 days in Canada. 4 sunny and the last 3 rained.

At the first annual California Escape owners rally in Jamala Beach, CA., Sept., 2014. Had beautiful weather the whole time.

And we all acted like perfekt angels.

Still hanging around in FL. Next week, in Ocala and Osceloa National Forests, part of the following week at Fort Clinch State Park, and then heading home after 3 months "on the road."

The first one looks like camping in the PNW. Love it! I do remember the good ol' days of "Blue Tarp Camping." Even before blue tarps...canvas tarps. Now that takes me back...

Wow, that sounds wonderful Adrian.
We've got about -24ºC at home here today, in excess of 50º difference.
Enjoy.

Sounds great Adrian. Hope you're enjoying the Valley. Speaking of Grapefruit, if you haven't done so, make sure to pick up some Texas Ruby Reds. Best citrus in the world is right where you are.

Gotta love modern transportation, I have half a Texas Ruby Red every morning What a change from the sour, sugar needed, grapefruit of yesteryear.

That tree is not a ruby red but there is one just a few trailers down, the park has lots of fruit trees just help yourself. A neighbour brought us over a lemon the other day, must have been seven inches around, taking us days and days to use it up. We are loving this very friendly park

Thanks Jim, we had seen that on FG forum. There is a lot more of this big state for us to see, of those 25 pics we only saw Dallas and Austin and there was awful traffic in both

On a different subject have you easterners decided on date and location for 2nd annual Eastern rally? We are going to Alf's Niagara one and wondering whether to stay longer before returning west.

Thanks for the link Jim. Also, don't play golf where I do -- nothing much to see. And never camp at Garner -- about an hour west of us. Featureless.

Nothing yet, I was hoping someone else may take the reins, if not I may have to, we will see.

two views out the back window

The first one is from the St. Clair Winery in Deming, NM. We found out about them through the Harvest Hosts program. The campsite was free, but not the half case of wine that we bought. We continue to think the Harvest Host stuff is a lot of fun, and highly recommend them.

The second photo is from Gilbert Ray Campground, in Tucson Mountain County Park just to the west of Tucson. A very nice county park with lots of hiking trails, and convenient to the Saguaro National Park and the Sonora Desert Museum. It is nice looking out the back window and seeing the Saguaro "forest". WE have taken several little nature hikes in the last few days, and I am gaining more appreciation for the desert. The high here today is supposed to be close to 20 C, with wind and a good chance of showers. But better than the snow expected in St. Paul today.

Nice photos Leon. But, if you go to Tucson in July or August, I don't know if your "appreciation for the desert" will hold up.
