Agree, but it's a little heavy for a key ring

Absolutely true But I don't think anyone that wants to break in worries about the little things.

Why bother with the heavy bar ? Screw driver(Robertson ) , remove 6 screws , pretty quiet , door removed . Pat

My point was I think the extra "security" lock is more to relieve anxiety and maybe for convenience (no key needed), rather than any real security. But, it's not my money nor my trailer.

I think the locks are a little better made . They look a little more hefty and I think they were metal inside . As I said , as we have done before ,and if we had the new gen door would definetly improve the door lock ,because it can be done . Pat

Simply simplicity.... no need to carry a key when I wander down to the ocean, into the forest for a hike... or other adventures that call. I love the idea of having a keyless entry system.

As somebody suggested in a PM - wonder what my commission would be on these sales?

Anyway, I've been looking at this lock for a long time and Sarah said it would work. Keys and I don't get along. I had a HECK of a time locking and unlocking the door on The Trailer (now at home!!!). It was suggested I put some vasoline on the key to make it work better. Well, it worked fine for one lock and then I had a heck of a time on the second lock. (Deadbolt and regular lock on the door.)

I've always had problems with keys. Must be something with me as they work fine for Dirk. So, if I can punch in a code, I'm all over that technology.

And regarding remotes - we didn't get one for the Maxx fan, which is probably a good idea as I had a HECK of time with the remote for the awning this morning. I had two witnesses that it wouldn't work for me. But it would for them. Then Dennis came along, fiddled with my hands for a bit and then it worked. Magic, I guess. (no rude comments, please - I was very frustrated that the remote wasn't working (for me) and the other two guys were amazed at what Dennis did.)

I'll report back as to how installation goes on the lock.

Vaseline will attract dirt and gum up your lock.
Use graphite and nothing else.

I had seen this RV key less lock before and decided against it as just another remote and batteries to add to my arsenal of remotes and batteries.

Back Home

Hi Laura~
How'd did the trip back home go? I have to admit you were on my mind (could be a song?) today. Hope it all went well after the awning
