The classic Northwest Territories (NT) plate, in a recent edition with more colour (they were just plain white with an outline for many years). This is the standard plate up there, and this polar bear shape has been standard as long as I remember (apparently since 1970). As far as I know it is only only non-rectangular plate in North America - certainly the only one in Canada (although Nunavut initially used a polar bear plate as well).

I'm always amused by the fact that they can use a simple number (it appears that they're up to six digits now) and have enough combinations. The entire territory has the population of one small city.

The other amusing thing about the Northwest Territories polar bear plate is that after the eastern part was split off to become Nunavut and both used this shape for a while, it was only the remaining Northwest Territories (the western part) which retained the polar bear shaped plate... but while they range over the entire Arctic coast, most of the polar bears in Canada are in the east. The most popular destination for polar bear watching (yes, that's a thing) is Churchill... in Manitoba.
