Had bought a new tent trailer for 3600. Sold it 4 years later for 4500. Bought a used 21 ft classC for 7200. Used it 12 years and sold for 8900. I was told by dealers you won't get more then 5500 on a good day . Guess they were wrong . I always do mods and take care of what we have . I even put new screws all around . Motor home was almost 24 years old . It is not work for me . Wish I was younger and had the funds to find a fixer upper fiberglass trailer . So much to do at home now keeps me busy . Do very much like getting idea's and seeing other's mods on the Forum . Pat

Yep. It isn't work when you love what you're doing Pat. Thanks for the reminder.

Seems like lots of folks with the 17B are up-sizing to either the 19 or 21, so we'll just keep looking for now. We narrowly missed out on a 2013 17B in Virginia recently for $16,000 US, I should have jumped on it right away but hesitated for just a second. So bargains are out there. And yes, we know we may have to be flexible on our budget.

Expanding our search area and budget

We've decided to expand our search area and budget and see what happens. We are no longer limiting it to the Southeastern US, but anywhere within a day or two drive from Tennessee. And we realize that we are probably going to have to bump up our budget. So if anyone is looking to upgrade from their gently used 17B, we are interested. Thanks.

I know it is a long ways away, but if Derril still has this trailer for sale, it is just like new, and loaded.

There's one available in Show Low, AZ. It meets all your criteria, I believe, except for the awning --

Thanks Pat.

That is our 17B we just listed it last night on fiberglass-rv-4sale and will put a listing up here shortly. I'm going back down to Phoenix next week so didn't want to put other listings up yet.
We don't really want to sell it, but all of you good folks convinced us we'll love the 19 Escape just as well.

The one that Derril is selling does look awesome, but that is way more than our budget would be even if we decide to order new. In looking at the standard items and options list, with all options that we would want, we would spend a little over 19,000 US. I know that we would have to then wait a year and then make that long drive, That's why we are first looking for used. But thanks for pointing it out.
