Best size for a comforter or quilt for the 21FT

Wondering the best dimensions for a comforter or quilt for the 21 foot mattress. I will be making it and can make it any size. trying to figure out how much drop. Anybody out there make one? Can't make up my mind if I want to tuck it under or let it hang out.

21 escape

We have the 21 also .I think the measurements are 80 in. long by 54 in. wide with a little cut in angle . I would overhang the side by the entrance and bottom of bed by a few inches .Maybe tuck in 2-3 inches on each side ? Get a queen sheet and tuck in whats needed then make a model of sheet for quilt use ?

Hi Quilting Lady. Your mattress will be 54" wide, with about an extra inch of air space between each side of the mattress and walls. So, in order for the quilt to cover a body or two, you will have overhang to fold over or under. Before we switched to bags, our bed cover was 70" wide. It hung down on the bathroom side enough to cover the mattress, with equal width against and down the outside wall. Hope this helps.

We stumbled upon a solution that works very well for us. Our son bought as a super soft full/queen blanket that we sits above our sheets, tucks into the sides, and provides full coverage. On top of that we have a twin duvet. It's just a few inches wider than the bed on either side. But it's easy to tuck in and have the bed look nice, while providing the added warmth we need at times. So you might want to think about doing something like that.

That's what we use, Jim. A sheet and a duvet most of the time, with a nice wool blanket added when the temperature drops.
