USD:CAD up a smidge in favor of USD. I was fortunate in having taken advantage of paying off half near the highpoint in May. Hoping to regain even a little more of the lost advantage over the coming week. Looking forward to final payment on Aug 4.
Whatever: I'll have my beautiful new Escape

1.25 is still a decent rate... if I pay now and it goes back up I wouldn't be as bummed as I would if goes down another 5-10%.

I'd be more than happy to give you advice on which way the exchange rate is going to move - but you shouldn't take it! Just ask IowaDave (or my wife Mary) about my history with that!!

It is all nothing but guesswork for the most part.

Is the USD dropping or is the CND rising ?
I guess it's all in how you look at it .
Since I don't have a horse in the race , my only hope is that the rising CND has a positive affect on the Canadian economy.
I guess I better plan on my Canadian fishing trip to cost a few more Loonies next year.

CAD is rising because economy is looking good and USD is dropping ( against other currencies, including Canadian $ ) because it's not looking good ( or as good as was expected ).

Thanks for the positive news .I've long thought that the USD was overvalued.

$35,000 CAD is $27,874 USD which is much better than we did and we spent more than that on ours in 2015. So the rate is still better than excellent, to me anyway.

Not to get too technical, but it looks like Canada will raise interest rates again before the US does and that seems to be what is driving it. Things have been falling so fast that it could mean a significant enough amount of $ to me to keep a pretty close eye on it
