Storage Options

We are currently working on our build sheet for the 19 (april scheduled delivery) and are curious about the storage options.

Your thoughts on these options appreciated (and if you supply photos of what they look like I will mix you a cocktail when we meet on the road!):

Cabinet door at end of bench
Drawer under wardrobe closet
Shelves in wardrobe closet

We are planning on the larger fridge so losing the storage space there.

Thanks in advance.

I went with the door at the end of the bench - it's a great place to keep a laundry bag for dirty laundry when traveling. I went with 3 shelves - 2 for my wife and 2 for me. Rather than hanging clothes, I fold & roll shirts and they fit in there very well. Easy to find what you are looking for.

The cabinet door at the bench end allows access to the storage while you are outside the door, for example if you put shoes there. Otherwise you will need to be inside, slide the table over and lift up the cushion and lid to obtain access to anything stored there. If I recall the door opening is 12'x12' and the space under the curb seat is like 40" long and 14" deep. The drawer under the closet just makes your closet shorter but you now have a dedicated space available. The shelves in the wardrobe will create usable space as your larger refer eliminates any storage over that space.
I opted for the smaller refer and have a nice pantry over the refrigerator for dry goods. I may add shelves later to my closet but for now it is used for a hanging organizer and hanging coats.

It all depends on what kind of camper you are.
Do you like to have a hanging space for close, then no shelves.
Would you like to use the space as pantry, go with shelves. (We got three evenly spaced)
Are you going to have an oven, you get the extra drawer.
Are you not going with an oven and do you want more then one drawer, get the extra drawer, or re-configure your space under the counter and get an extra drawer there. (We went with four drawers under the counter for our 19)
The extra cabinet door for access underneath the bench: recommended! (Assuming you don't get the extra hatch in the front what gives you access to that area)

Cabinet door at end of bench
Drawer under wardrobe closet
Shelves in wardrobe closet

We got all 3 options with 3 shelfs in the closet. Cabinet door on bench is almost a must.

My early start to the party shooing shopping at Costco for my wife while she was cooking for tomorrow night's fun. I was a horrendous experience, nothing short of a nightmare. It was only made worse by the hundreds of vehicles lined up for fuel before the increase in the first. A lovely Japanese blended whiskey is calming my nerves.

Always wondered why Costco has a liquor store attached....

We have the door at the end of the bench and use it for shoe storage. Very glad we got it.

Added 2 drawers under the closet. We have the larger fridge and the microwave so we lost the drawers by the sink.

We didn't figure we would use the closet for hanging clothes because it is so small so we built shelves and use it as a pantry. The size of the closet was reduced even more because of the drawers we added but there are still 3 nice sized shelves.

We use a bar in the tow vehicle for hanging clothes. Our tow is our closet. In our mind it's a nice trade off for having a beautiful small trailer.

I don't see the relationship between the two. I have beautiful small trailer with a closet that I can hang clothes in. Works for me.

agreed 100%. we don't hang clothes. constant wear/tear on a hanger add motion. HUGE pantry instead. 3 shelves hold alot of food items. door at end of bench is a no brainer. we keep onions, produce in a tub on one side, flip flops, sneakers on the other. wish we had the drawer under the closet. wasted space.

Nothing to stop you from adding one now. And while you're at it add a couple of doors to open up other wasted spaces. You can buy door and drawer fronts from ETI.

I just meant we don't mind having our closet in the tow. I guess we take more hanging clothes.

Ron, does the door in your 1st picture open under the sink? How much space do you gain under the furnace?

Do you also have a bar in the trailer? It seems a long trek to the TV every time you want a drink. :-)

Not under the sink, that area remains unchanged. There is about a 4' long space over the wheel wells, as well as a smaller space just inside the door.

The area under the furnace is a good storage for my permanent trailer tool boxes and misc. stuff. Much better than having to retrieve them from under a settee. It extends behind the other locker all the way to the rear storage area.

If you find Markvt's mod of these areas you can see how he opened the areas up totally.

Ditto to the storage under the bench. We also had a pull-out drawer made to store our shoes and more; before the pull-out, and when traveling, our shoes and boots would travel to the back and made it cumbersome to retrieve.
We have a drawer under the closet and like it for our first-aid, bug repellent, sunscreen and other toiletries.
We hang our clothes in the closet---I like having a place to keep the coats out of sight and to hang nicer clothes in case we go out on our travels. If it were up to me, I'd opt for the shelving as the drawer cuts the length of the narrow closet significantly.
