Stove Pics?

Can anyone who changed the position of their stove, i.e., had it turned sideways, post pictures please? Also, if anyone had the 3 burner stove changed to a 2 burner I would appreciate pictures of that as well. Thanks!

Hey Carol:

Unless things have changed, the stock stove is a 2 burner - the 3 burner or stainless 3 burner are options. We went for the 3 burner in stainless and I think it looks a lot nicer. I think it depends how much and what you'll be cooking. There's probably more room for a bigger pot to fit on the 2 burner.
If you're a spaghetti lover, that might come into play .

Personally I think turning it sideways would leave too little clearance from the walls and sides from a cleaning and a safety standpoint. That probably has a lot to do with the fact that my husband's a fire fighter. I have a large cutting board that sits on top of the stainless top to create more counter space as well as protect the stainless top. When cooking, it covers the entire sink area like a counter top. Unless the weather is super ugly or windy, my husband cooks outdoors. We have a portable barbecue as well as a camp stove. When I want a nice cup of tea in the middle of the night, it's nice to prepare it inside. Over time, food odors will permeate fabrics and bedding - this is especially true in small spaces. I would prefer our trailer not end up smelling like a mobile cook shack!

Your trailer is your personal space so design it as you plan to live in it.

I wanted a stainless stove, and the only way to do that was get the 3 burner stainless. We could probably make do with only two burners since we also mostly cook outside, but the 3 burner does have one "hotter" burner for when you really need to crank it up. For me, having any stove sideways would be awkward, I like the controls in front.

Hi: Carol R... I believe the propane stove controls must be at the front to prevent you from reaching over the flame. There are rules regarding RV appliances. Alf

Sideways stoves

A couple of things... if you really want a two burner stainless stove, I believe Tammy can get you one. We looked at this but then decided that when folded down we had a small uneven work space. With the three burner closed we have a large work area.

Two, most Casita trailers with a two burner stove have them mounted sideways so it must be possible. Check out their site: Casita Travel Trailers - Our Showroom | Freedom | Schematic

Tammy did the two burner and specific cover in stainless for my 19 last year. I wanted more counter top/less cook top/cover area. The link below details the difference. I love the results.

Maybe I missed this but is the three burner stove wider than the two burner?

Hard to tell by the picture. I'll get a measurement of mine and post it soon.

Ah, yes, looks like the 2 burner takes up about 4.5" less depth and 2.5" less width which may help some with coffee makers or other appliances.

Our three-burner option from the factory is 14 3/4 inches deep and 20 1/4 inches wide. Hope this helps.

Here is my 19 with a two burner in stainless with matching stainless cover, range hood, and sink. The stoves smaller dimensions = more counter space between the stove and the sink and a bit more in front of the stove and the edge of the counter. Sorry about the crumbs in the pix but at least there was a bit more counter space to catch them

Yes, I'm sorry I went with the 3 burner, the 2 burner is nicer.

2 burner stainless? I don't see that as an option on escapetrailer.com. It definitely looks like the way to go. What's the make/model and how much extra did it cost from Escape?

Same maker as the regular white 2 or 3 burner and same size as the 2 burner white version.. the stainless cover is also a smaller version of the 3 burner one.. I just had to give Escape a little extra time to source the sku's that are variations of their standard/optional build You'd best speak with Tammy regarding current pricing

Our 2012 invoice shows $300.00 for 2 burner stainless stove and range hood. And add $75.00 for the stove cover. Not a cheap option for the few times we cook inside. We wanted something with less foot print in stainless to match everything else. I would also suggest the electronic ignitor mod. and forget the matches & Bic lighters around the stove.
