Escape cabinet size for speakers?

I'm considering mounting speakers that are 6 1/2 inch diameter in our soon-to-be-built 21 overhead cabinets, both at the rear over the table and in the front over the bed. Questions are:

1. Are the faces of the cabinets large enough for these to fit?

2. Does Escape provide any kind of physical barrier in the cabinet to protect the speakers?
