Did the same as techfan, bought a set of smaller Master locks with a soft plastic edge and also cut a piece of the soft side of a velcro strip on the side of the lock that contacts the latch. I purchased a set of 4 locks from Home Depot with one key that opens all 4 locks. We use the other two locks on the BAL X chocks so they cannot be removed, also locks the trailer in place.

I opened up the holes with a Rotary tool and a grinder stone for the larger locks. A drill bit will just grab the bracket and twist it and your wrist as well . The clasps are just soft mild steel and the hinge points are showing rust after only 2 seasons. I would like to change them to a stainless steel some day soon.

I've almost been everywhere man.

Southco probably has a stainless version; I used to buy a lot of similar products from them. I'd research myself but won't get my 21 until 8/22. I did send Reace a note about a possible source for a stainless model.

Southco on Amazon

It looks like Southco has lots of stainless stuff on Amazon. I filed a sample in my wish list for future use for mods and around home. The stuff you buy at Home Depot rusts in about 5 minutes.

Thanks Charlie!
