Had to ask santacruzer... can you name a couple of your favorite non-fiction books? My reading pile is empty at the moment

Happy to oblige! Here are four:

Makos: A Higher Call
Makos: Devotion
Meacham: Destiny and Power

and, for the vagabond in you,

William Least Heat Moon: Blue Highways

Look 'em up on Amazon, but buy 'em from a local independent bookseller if you can.

We're always doing those while we're on the road between stops. A good one sure makes the miles roll by...

I love real books, but take my kindle paperwhite camping because I can put so many books on it and have choices. I used to read on my iPad, but the screen glare is horrible for reading - the kindle is so much better.
I agree with JaneM I do all of my non-work reading on a Kindle paper white ad it is so much better than my IPAD or computer

Some links for you and others who may get use of them:

700 Free Audio Books: Download Great Books for Free | Open Culture

https://librivox.org/search?primary_...rm=get_results

https://www.youtube.com/user/audiobooksfree

How do I download and save a YouTube video to my computer?

https://archive.org/details/oldtimeradio

save yourself some money here and there :} Yes they are legit public domain stuff no longer copyrighted etc. Sometimes you can find people who have collected complete show series selling the collection on dvd for cheap money to save yourself the downloading time and such. I do not know if that is legit though it is done on ebay all the time

A couple more traveling books - Steinbeck's Travels With Charlie and Jack Kerouac's On The Road.

And while not non fiction, another "road" book well worth reading is Robert Pirsig's Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance.

2X on buying them at your local independent bookstore.
