Replaced tabletop and table legs 21 ft
Several months ago I replaced the two table legs with a telescoping style pedestal.
Since then we decided the dinette area was not big enough for us to gals or the table top was too big to allow us ample getting in and out room, so I made a new smaller table top. I used a lighter weight "plywood" and milk paint with a hemp oil seal. We'll see how it holds up. Great size for us. Kept the old top in case this does not work out.

We also explored a smaller tabletop in our 2017 21' to increase the ease of us both getting in and out of the bench seats. We even made a mock-up out of heavy cardboard. Contacted ETI with the measurements, and they said they could make it for us with matching Formica and trim. But it would cost (in CAD) $175 for the custom table, $90 for the Formica (unless we could ship our extra back to them) and $100 shipping for a total of $365. In the end, we decided that we like the standard table just fine.

Telescopeing leg
Is it as sturdy as the original? Not crazy about the two leg system...... there has to be a better way.

It is very sturdy. I had it attached to the original top and it worked great.

I think I purchased it at Overton's. It a Springfield 3-Stage 12-3/4" 20" or 28" Anodized Pedestal Set Includes Square Table Mount and Base 1660230.

Springfield
One more question 😉 does the whole assembly lift out so you can get at the back storage space if necessary? Leaving just the floor mount.

No, it doesn't. That is why I switched to a Lagun mount in my 21 with the "U" shaped dinette.

ETI installed the Springfield for me on the table which already had their sliding mount on it. So even though I would have to take the table top off to have unencumbered access to the benches, the tabletop slides pretty far left and right, (or front to back from wherever the table top is rotated) and rotates 360.

Is the table top real stable? I really want to eliminate the dual posts and wobble.

Where the post attaches to the floor - We have the original table with 2 legs. What would that look like, to replace that with what you have? How have others covered up the holes left from the 2-legged table, and with what kind of success? Thanks all.

I am curious on screw holes as well on a non u shaped dinette version
If I get the pedestal style how much will be covered and what will stick out? are the screw holes small or big?
