20 amp hookups

Does anyone know if we can use 20 amp hookups with the 19'?

Usually we have 30, but would it hurt to try hooking up with 20?

20 amp should be fine, unless you want to operate your microwave and a/c together, these 2 items are you biggest electrical uses, otherwise you will be fine.

never in doubt, often wrong

If you have the electric option for the water heater shutting it off will help, or, at least waiting until it shuts down before using any other high draw appliances.

Re: 20 amp hookups

We were staying at my son's house last summer in Florida. I was plugged into his 20 amp in the carport. AC worked fine mostly, but would periodically trip his breaker. I thought I had turned off everything. Turned out it was the water heater. Turned that off and the AC worked the rest of the visit.

Re: 20 amp hookups

Thanks for the tips. We have the smaller Polar Cub AC (9800 watts) so that should work. We will turn off electric heater, though.

Re: 20 amp hookups

Not too much chance both the AC and the electric heater would be on at the same time, anyway.

Re: 20 amp hookups

If you have the water heater with the electric element turn it off, an option some trailers have. Follow what Jim told you and you will be ok. Campground electrical hook up is not that difficult to do or figure out.
