I've used double sided tape ( don't know brand ) for bath mirror, paper towel hanger and my "instrument panel". All have been in place for at least four yrs.

Thanks for the pictures. I would think that you have to think carefully about what you're putting where, because once in place it stays there! Does it matter if the area gets wet afterward -- like in the bathroom?

The mirror is on the inside of the bathroom door, but protected by the shower curtain.
3M makes products for damp environments.
Look up 3M Command web site and you will see all sorts of products and applications.
