New Window Style

Thanks for all the suggestions but it appears that I have a different style of Hehr windows. I called the factory and explained my issue with removing the screen. Their first response was just as above but that will not work.

If you look at the photo, my screens do not have the spring clips. This is the newer 5600 series from Hehr. To remove these screens it is necessary to take out the plastic channel the screen resides in. If you can get something under the channel where the screen is not present you can remove the entire channel from the metal raceway. Hehr said to cut the channel in half and only insert one half. Doing this will allow the screen to slide over to the area without the plastic channel and now be removed.

I did this on the first of the three sliding windows in my 21 and then found that the plastic channel in the upper raceway is already cut in half. It was a simple matter of pulling out that one half of plastic channel and the screen can now be easily removed.

That actually looks a lot easier than futzing around with the spring-loaded screens......thanks for the info!

That explains the confusion!

Thanks for an excellent description.
