They do fundamentally different things: the Fridge-Fix improves performance by forcing air circulation inside the unit (and over the heat transfer fins); I believe that the Texas Fan improves performance by forcing air circulation over the coils outside the unit. Both sides need to work properly, so a fix on only the side which is most limiting performance might be enough, but they are complementary - not competing - solutions.

The unit is 4" deep and 2" thick with 2 fans that will increase the efficiency. It also has an on/off switch and is wired to the interior light. It will look factory made once installed, not a bolt on modification. The unit comes with a unconditional money back guarantee. The price for Escape owners will be $70 plus shipping. Canadian shipping will be higher than US. So if we can get at least 10 purchases, he will make the special cut to the units. If you do decide, mention it is for the Escape Dometic model# 8555. Mine will be the first, so 9 more.
Here is link to their site Home
Send them a message - mine will be #2 of 10 when they tell me how to order it.

I was hoping the performance of the 6.7 would be stellar. It sure looks like a great refrigerator. I guess not if people are quietly searching for solutions for improved refrigerator performance and getting in line for a limited production of this additional fan. You would think Dometic would install an inside circulating fan on every unit as a standard feature with their pretty blue light.
Catchlight you may not need the Texas fan if you travel and camp up north. Maybe this Fridge Fix would be sufficient. The Texas fan pulls ambient air through the lower vent across the coils as it pushes the warmer exchanged air out the upper vent. It does help mine after I boxed in the air discharge. I have not seen how it is mounted with the new roof vent.

I don't even have my 21 yet, but want to set it to be anywhere, anytime. Once wifey joins me in retirement I don't want limitations - so I'm also adding a solar vent fan once I have the rig. Very cheap insurance against hassles in my opinion.

Tractors, you may want to re-think that solar vent fan. I was very interested in it so I did some reading and I've read mostly very bad reviews on it. I've heard that the units last 2 years max and the solar panel or the housing cracks or both. Maybe they will work on the quality but I would never buy it.

Well, I built a solar powered fountain for wifey, so substituting fans for pumps can't be hard. I work with the plastics every day!

Yeah Dave, I saw your pics of that mod for the air discharge. Very slick.

I had no problem getting two additional wires through the thermistor hole - the first time for a pair of #24 wires for the LED strip I added & the &20 single wire that is attached to the fan.

While the fan doesn't prevent the need to defrost the fins, it lengthens the time between defrostings, and evens the temperature in the refrigerator.

I just sent them a message.

Our fridge has the TX fan and is definitely not adequate - in eastern WA right now and it goes up to 52 during the day.

Just contacted Fridge Fix, asking to be added to the "Group of Ten". Thanks for arranging this, Jim.

Do not be alarmed if you don't hear from them until Monday, they are closed for the holiday. Five so far, great. Although I'm happy with mine, I always felt it could do better. I feel operating something and setting the controls to 3/5 should be adequate in lieu of 4 or the max-5. What changed my mine was that one of my little portable fans stopped working, so I ordered 2 more off Amazon yesterday, right before I received an email response from them re: my inquiry. After speaking with the president, he is very enthusiastic about his product and is a perfectionist. He did not want to cut his stock unit to 16" because it will be right in the middle of one of his vents. Although the vents re in the rear, out of sight, he still did not like the idea. I'll attach a picture of what he was talking about. Anyway, I decided to try it, it can not hurt.
Anyone want to buy a couple of portable refer fans….real cheap.

If you guys/gals like, send me a p/m with your name and I'll send a email direct to Mike listing those who want to order, that way you will receive the Escape model vs the stock model when they sort thru the emails on Monday. I'll wait until Sunday to email him that way I'll have a complete list.

As I mentioned earlier, my mom swears by the fridge fix, but its also good to know that the owner stands by his product and is willing to do the customizations necessary to meet customers needs.
