I like the Fridge-Fix design but it's a little expensive for me. I thought I would try to come up with something on my own so I found 2 high performance very quiet cooling fans with sealed bearings I had laying around and am going to mount these in my refrigerator and try them. I'll take pics when done and report on how it went.

While not as elegant as the Fridge Fix solution, for $14.75 I added this to my 5 cu ft fridge.
There are a number of suppliers on ebay. I had already added an interior LED light, so I had 12V available, however it comes with a long enough + voltage lead to run to the 12V terminal for the fridge. The negative connection is the clips that hold it to the fins.

Hold on, the president of the company called and wanted additional info, he wants to insure that the unit will work in the model#8555
So i took some interior pic rues, removed the switch cover to expose the wires, took pictures and measurements and sent him email. He said they may make a custom "Escape" model, he will get back. He is holding back my shipment until the pictures are analyzed.

By the way, there is a lock/slide on the light cover that you can activate that will keep the door open, in addition to the little tab on the door that eliminates having to depress the top tab.

Good to know! The guy told me yesterday that it'd fit any of the single door double wide Dometics, as long as they were more than 17 3/4" wide inside.

Different day, different story.

I don't have my 21 yet but I did check out Dave&Kathies (Portland, OR) and there was a nice blue light inside the fridge. Dunno if it was this unit in there or not.

Yes, the blue led light is stock. Our unit is 16.25" wide at the inside top. Mike, the president said he will cut the stock units down to this measurement and make a 10 unit production run. The unit is 4" deep and 2" thick with 2 fans that will increase the efficiency. It also has an on/off switch and is wired to the interior light. It will look factory made once installed, not a bolt on modification. The unit comes with a unconditional money back guarantee. The price for Escape owners will be $70 plus shipping. Canadian shipping will be higher than US. So if we can get at least 10 purchases, he will make the special cut to the units. If you do decide, mention it is for the Escape Dometic model# 8555. Mine will be the first, so 9 more.
