So I've had my 2017 17B for a few months now. I was under the understanding that when plugged in to shore power, the default was to run on AC, but when I turn it on when hooked up to shore power, it automatically tries to light on propane. When I try to switch it to AC, I can only get it to display either Propane or DC. Is this what should happen? If the propane isn't on, it seems to switch to AC. Is this right, or should I just be able to set it to AC? Thanks for any assistance!
I have a different model fridge, without automatic power selection, but I am guessing that the AC plug for the fridge has disconnected. Others on the forum have reported that the fridge plug has loosened in the outlet.
Open up the vent cover on the side of the trailer and look for the power cord, and make sure it is securely plugged into the outlet.
At one point last year I had a similar experience. Checked the plug/outlet like Kirk & Shelley mention but with a test plug. When it showed good I called the mobile tech, replaced a bad element.
You are correct though, when in AUTO, it should kick over to AC anytime there is AC power available to the fridge, if no AC it will attempt gas. Battery is always a manual change.
When plugged into shore power and fridge happy on AC... i've had the power go out during storms and it will automatically switch over to gas, then the power will come back on and automatically switch over to AC again. Have not needed to touch the settings, Hope this helps.
