Jim, I am wondering if what you had originally from Escape, since you had one of the first units, is the same as we have now. I expect that if I turn on the propane water heater switch, there will be a red light. We use electric, however, so I don't really remember how that propane light might work. I just saw that you said it was set-up contrary to expectation and I wonder how it is supposed to work now and if maybe it is different from yours.

It will still work the same way. If you turn on the propane water heat, the light comes on indicating it is igniting, and will go off once the ignition is successful. I added the indicator light to let me know whenever it was on.

With the AC option, I just spliced the cable going to the heater through the new switch, and left the heater switch on all the time. I also added a 120V AC LED to that circuit to tell me when it is on.
