New guy with ?'s
Hi everyone, i just found this forum & have been reading thru some of the posts. We're from Parksville, over on the island. My wife & i are looking at getting a 17' in the near future. Some questions i have are......
- Is there any insulation in the floor of these? We've found in the past that the feet can get pretty cold sitting at the table at night. (We like to camp all over BC., 3 seasons) If not, do you think it's possible to add some from underneath? Or is there no way to hold it up there.
-If we were to get one made, is it possible to get some cabinets customized? I have some alternate ideas in mind.
-Along the same line, what's the dimensions of the front dinette seats (length). I'm thinking of putting either 2 recliners, or some nice captains chairs there. I have a bad back & can't sit in those bench seats for any length of time.
- How hard would it be to add some lights over the front dinette? I like to tye flies in the evenings & lighting makes a world of difference!
That's probably enough questions for now eh! LOL! Looking forward to your responses, thanks, Gary

Re: New guy with ?'s
Hi Gary, welcome to the forum.
I would recommend to contact Reace or Tammy
at Escape Trailer Industries for the answers to your questions.
They are very accommodating when it comes to modifications if possible.

Re: New guy with ?'s
Hi: GaryH... If you want custom mod's within reason I think Escape is your Trailer!!! email Reace& Tammy with questions but they are busy busy busy and there is a reason for that. For the cold floor laying in a cut to fit carpet remnant helps a lot. Extra lights are easy to add during the build as well as some cabinet mod's.
Can't help with dimentions as we have a 5.0...no front dinette!!!

Re: New guy with ?'s
Hi Gary,
Welcome to the forum. There are lights under the cabinets in the front dinette as well as one under each of the three cabinets in the back (large dinette) or bed. Also take a look at Jeff's in the For Sale portion of this forum, as there is a wardrobe modification, that you might like. I don't know if if there could also be an "after market" mod to put in chairs, but you may wish to inquire about that as well.

Re: New guy with ?'s
The front dinette area in the 17B is too tight. You might squeeze one recliner in there, but you'd have no table or bench, losing two of your storage areas. Also, the cupboards above your head are apparently part of the structure for the trailer.
As for light for tying flies, there is an AC outlet on the side of the cupboard. I have a small gooseneck lamp that clamps to the table to focus light on the vise.
