Protection whilst parked for the summer?

Our 5.0TA will be parked most or all the time from now through end of August as the 'guest house' for our cabin. The parking spot (see photo) is partially under some Douglas firs. We'd like to protect it from detritus/sap/etc., while it's parked there.

The trailer will be used only for sleeping quarters -- no cooking or showering -- so I was thinking of putting a smallish tarp (10' x 20' or so) over the top, with the corners guyed. Hoping that ventilation via open windows would be adequate while it's in use, since a tarp will cover the roof vents.

Opinions?

(The body of water the photo is Lake Pend Oreille in north Idaho, near Sandpoint.

Well the right answer would be a metal roofed rv port, probably followed by one of the soft covered ones.

Having had a few rv covers over the years I suspect a roof only cover like you mention (Adco sells one) will get destroyed by the wind. Along with that, the lack of sides will allow dust to get up on the roof, acting as a fine abrasive between the trailer and the cover.

Some sort of wax can help to make the stuff from the trees easier to remove. Any kind of cover has issues, as already mentioned.

Costco, for about $200bucks but, you'll have to raise it up a foot or so before driving under it.

How long ago did you buy that from Costco?

Do they still sell them? In the USA.

$200 or so, would be awesome.

Pretty light duty, but here's Shelter Logic's $206 version of Myrons canopy, says it has 9'6" high clearance.

Shelter Logic 20' x 10' Max AP 8-Leg Canopy - White : Target

Here's a more heavy duty direct from Shelter Logic, $330.

Thanks, all. Per your suggestions, I think I'll probably just wax it and hope for the best. Certainly many campgrounds have comparable tree cover...

I hope to put up a shelter for it at home, but most likely won't do that here. We get some wicked thundersqualls by the lake that any lightweight shelter would probably do in.
