If you don't have protective bug screen on intake/exhaust of heater tubes could be a restriction. East Texas wasp or mud daubers will build their nest in tubes causing air flow restrictions.

Aerodynamic Drag on Escape Trailer

I had 2007 Chevy truck 5.3L V8, 4 speed auto,
3.73 axle ratio and Leer topper with roof rack.
I added Thule wind deflector and set to rear of
topper. It increased gas mileage little over 1
mpg...
