True enough, but at least the male connection would only be hot during the time one was handling the solar panel being plugged in. You would need a cover for the male end when it's not plugged in....

Isn't that a marine fixture for providing 110v AC? I think I'd be worried that someone would inadvertently plug in a 110V AC extension cord and fry the solar circuit. They make double-prong-only...
