Just out looking at the awning, it is attached to the trailer! Hard to put a strap around it. Guess that's why the arm straps..........duh!

I'm not doubting that it has happened, just looking at everything that has to occur for an awning to open. I was expecting to see a strap that went around the awning, not the arms.

It appears these straps go around each arm. The arms already have a lock on each and the black knob tightened, so for the awning to open at least one lock and knob would have to fail?
