Is there a GFCI on the circuit? In the case of an overload it should be the circuit breaker that tripped but it wouldn't hurt to check the GFCI.

By switches do you mean the circuit breakers? You probably have tripped one.

Even if you flipped them once, try again. Sometimes they don't snap back into position. Look at the levers or...
