YEs the Queen is 2 frames set next to each other.
I trimmed the slats to fit into the 21 bed ( including the cut off corner).
also cut one side to the same size of the hatch only this piece needs...

We are also a fan of the IKEA slatted bed base....

We are also a fan of the IKEA slatted bed base. we picked up our form the As-IS section for $20. Trimming the slats is easy to fit the escape bed & allow access to the storage hatch
