Storing shoes has always been a problem. I though I had it figured out, but the access to the bottom step storage did not work well. So version 3, made the lift up step/lid wider. Cross fingers....

I doubt it, the heating doesn't occur on boats with all their SS. If it did, there are wraps for handles that can be added later.

I am not sure why ETI decided to attach the plastic bins with 4 visible screws and not just glue them on from the back.

I made corner trim with real oak, 1/2 by 1/2 inch on the inside panel edges. Reused the larger corner trim on the main vertical joint.
