I see there are a couple bearing specialty shops...

I see there are a couple bearing specialty shops in Springfield Ma. Do you bring an old set it to have them matched or do they go by an axle number or some such?

I dumped the gray into 5 gallon buckets one time...

I dumped the gray into 5 gallon buckets one time just to see if it was worth it, it slowed way down for the last 5 minutes and I got 3 gallons letting it trickle till it stopped. Not worth the effort...

I always figured it was a throwback to when trailers, pop-ups mostly, had those tiny little wheels, 12"?. Due to the small size they heated up much quicker and were more prone to going bad.

Dexter's website says you still need to do "periodic" service, which I take it to mean you have to check the bearings yearly or every 10k as mentioned...
