There was a thread about this last year. Had a bunch of us pushing paperclips and Allen wrenches in the rivet holes and listening for thunks.
I had a couple that did not thunk and seem to get stuck...

I was not predicting doom and gloom just curiosity since I could not find these parts in the manual or elsewhere. Ours is fine, the front just barely touches the guide and the rear touches about 3/8...

Is the lower guide piece that is attached to the Escape body unique to Escape? It is not in the installation book and I do not see it elsewhere.

True but I had looked ours over and can't figure where this adjustment to prevent it from hanging low is. In case I needed to ever adjust it. I can see the ones used if it does not retract fully....

I wonder if adding additional bend into the two guide rails so the awning would not catch on them would be a possible solution. I will now be watching when we retract it. But I'd hate for the awning...

Using the forum search showed nothing about this so I used google. And it looks like this is normal. The rivet installed into air, that is different. It does not move so I'll leave it....
