When ordering my last 21 I told them not to drill the hole in the sink cover. I was then able to use that for an additional flip up in the new E21.

Yes, I believe so, I just removed the shelf and repositioned it further back. The same brackets were used in the dinette area as well as in my last E19, you lift and then collapse.

Yes and if you take it off the brackets and turn it 90 degrees or flip it the other way, you only lose 11" clearance vs 18" going out the door. Does this make sense now?
Mine is more like 12x16 so...

I'm confused, mine is rectangle shaped and I mounted the short side toward the front and the long side toward the door, it is at least 2-3" shorter than the factory way.

I find the stock way of mounting the flip up table with the long side out to be obtrusive in using the door thus I reversed mine to have the long side toward the door for ease of use while extended.
