Mine is on the front, not the side. If I got the box, I wouldn't be able to open it. Have to admit, I don't use it much. You are limited by the size of the opening. Bulky items are easier to get at...

It's a heck of a lot easier to "make the bed"...

It's a heck of a lot easier to "make the bed" using the front dinette. For me, that's straightening the sleeping bag and getting the pillow off the floor.
