make sure you don't have one of those aluminum...

make sure you don't have one of those aluminum placebo anodes. they don't do any good and are just a place filler.

a good reason to drain the water system is if its going to sit for weeks unused....

re the scratches, get a black 'industrial' Sharpie (aka Sharpie Pro), or a MarksAlot, and dab the scratch, voila, no-see-um. won't last forever, but easy to touch up. regular sharpies don't work...
