Regardless, I am very interested in seeing what the final product layout will be like. It has to be tough designing something with a peanut gallery like the one hear.

Ah.. the gallery makes it both fun and challenging..

Ah, now you're on to something. Floor plan FB and floor plan RB (might want to think of something more original, don't want to be confused with Brand X). Best of both worlds. Sounds like a picture of the two floorplans side by side would make it all clear. A stretched, roomier, Escape 19 and a new model, both from the same mold, two for the price of one.
Perfect.

Well, my vote, for what it's worth is plan A.
Any chance you can fit that into a 17B?

Re: 21' Floor plan with rear bed
I really like the front bed one. Like others, I'd rather see the sights than my tow vehicle when sitting at the dinette and could easily see putting a curtain for privacy, if I felt it was needed.
Just imagine.... Beach front in a back in spot - where do you want the dinette? Okay, we'll be outside until it's late, but still :-)
Thank you for asking, Reace! Our next trailer will be an Escape.

Re: 21' Floor plan with rear bed
Both plans are impressive and each have their own advantages. That being said, my personal preference would be front bed and rear dinette. Similar to the previous comments, I like the idea of have the view out the back while eating/chatting/playing cards. I also like the idea of having the kitchenette window looking out awning side (i.e. looking out at your own campsite while cooking/doing dishes).
Can't wait to see the final product......

I prefer the first model too---I like the table and stove close to each other...

Re: 21' Floor plan with rear bed
lots of people seem interested in being able to see out the back while at the dinnette, I will offer another line on thought. What are the things that we go into the trailer most often to do, ie the fridge, food storage and the bathroom. So to have these items easily accessed with out having to go through the trailer would be important to me. So my vote for what its worth ( lets be honest not much ) is for the front bed which keeps the bathroom nearer the door. In our last trailer the bathroom was in the very back corner and it really was a pain.

Re: 21' Floor plan with rear bed
This sure has been fun reading all the different ideas and logic it's based on. There has not been much talk about the kitchen location. Close to the door makes sense since most
say they cook outside, using the stove to heat something or sink for dishes would be most useful

I just wished Reace would get this one on the ground so that we can start talking about the next 5th wheel model!

Re: 21' Floor plan with rear bed
REACE, in the Plan B, would it be possible to put the bed on the other side, allowing a window towards the campsite?
Another thought is, would it be possible to stack the furnace and fridge over the drivers side wheel well, so the the exhausts would not come out the door side?

Only thing I'd change about the 5.0, is to make it a little wider like the 19!

Re: 21' Floor plan with rear bed
Those are really good ideas Jim, our previous trailer had the furnace exhaust right in the middle of the trailer under the awning side and I really wished it was on the other side. Aswell the idea having the rear rear bed side window under the awning side would be nice. The other thing the that crossed my mind with the front bed option was what about the drain for the black tank wouldn't it end up on the awning side ? I have to say the more i look at both of these options the more I like the 19 ft layout. I have looked at alot of trailers, heck I have owned too many trailers and the 19 ft is the most compact efficient use of space i have ever seen.

I agree. Fortunately, the layout options for the 21 aren't causing me any regret at all. And the permanent bed in the 19 is a few inches bigger in each direction than the one proposed in the 21.

Re: 21' Floor plan with rear bed
the size of the bed in the 19 ft was a real deal closer for me, sleep and food!! everything else can be compromised but not those two.

Re: 21' Floor plan with rear bed
Another vote for the rear bed! All the trailers I have owned have had the beds in the back. I prefer my bed space to be more private. If guests are invited for a cup of coffee, meals or just chats, then there is no traipsing through. That is unless someone needs to use the toilet. Also, it is nice to have easy access to the galley area as many of us cook outdoors as well. That's MHO!

Re: 21' Floor plan with rear bed
As most of the time, the rear is darker than the front of your site, we are camping in the Allegheny Mountains and watch the moon/stars out our rear bedroom picture window. Another vote for rear bed.
